Research is a systematic investigation undertaken to establish facts, discover new knowledge, or revise existing theories. It involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information to increase understanding of a specific topic or problem.
Scientific Publication Support
We are pleased to announce the financial support for publishing scientific research. The support will be provided in accordance with the following criteria:
1. The support only covers publication fee for full articles and review articles.
2. Current support cycle is only for manuscript accepted in 2025 on first come first served basis.
3. The accepted manuscript must be published in a Scopus-indexed journal ranked Q1 or Q2 only.
4. The primary author (first or corresponding author) must be a staff or a student of the college. The affiliation of OCHS must be written in the publication.
5. Each researcher is eligible for this financial support once in 2025. 6. Maximum support is 1000 OMR per publication. Request must be submitted to head of research section at OCHS with acceptance letter, publication and invoice.
This Policy applies all staff and
students at Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) conducting research
activities within or outside the college premises or facilities. The policy is
also applied to visiting researchers and individuals holding honorary posts. read more
The formation of Joint Research & Studies Committee at the Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) and the Higher Institute of Health Specialties (HIHS) is a significant step to establish learning by enquiry initiatives based on scientific evidences. Research initiatives will help in building capacity, encourage creativity, and enhance innovation. The primary aim of the Joint Research& Study Committee (JRSC) is to lay out guidelines for conducting academic research, review and grant ethical approval of proposals for both OCHS and HIHS. and students, for the submission of their research project proposals. It provides guidance on the
